Exam exemptions are posted in PowerSchool. If you have an asterisk, you are exempt; if your grade is blank, you are required to take the exam tomorrow. Please email me if you are unsure!!!
Hey guys, I have the following labs for us next week: Monday Comms Lab Room 110 (Journalism Lab next to Foods Room); Wednesday and Friday Research Lab Room 116 (next to Library). Anyone doing a presentation will present and be graded Tuesday, June 18th. We will use any remaining time that day to review for the final. I will either post the exam review sheet over the weekend or give you a copy in class Monday morning. Bell Jar girls = 1 project Pink Fairy Book = 1 project Cuckoo's Nest = see document with all project options! :) You MAY change your mind if you told me Thursday that you wanted to take the traditional test. Enjoy your weekend and be safe. -Ms. Suchy
*If absent Friday, turn in Poetry assignment by THURSDAY.
1. Read the other two poems in your packet. 2. Work through the analysis as we did with "Daddy" in class. 3. Write a well-supported paragraph in response to one of the two poems. "Sylvia Plath's poem ______ reveals..." Cuckoo - Read p. 260-275 for Thursday Bell Jar = Finish book!
Cuckoo's Nest = Read pages 225-258 PFB = assigned stories *All students must produce an alternative or traditional assessment to demonstrate your learning from the novel. Bell Jar will have time to create group projects, but the other two groups will need to think about this. It may be that you write an essay, complete an in-class assessment or create a group project that is feasible to complete in just two classes but still reflects depth of analysis. Check reading schedule for HW.
Keep up the good work! I heard strong character analysis in class today. Look under "Assignments" for reading schedule.
EXPECT A QUIZ ON TUESDAY!!! *The quiz will contain text-dependent questions which require a close reading of the text. Cuckoo - Read p. 42-75
Bell Jar - Read Ch. 3 & 4 PFB - See Dave or Sam Reading Assignments for your novels:
Cuckoo's Nest - Read through page 26 Bell Jar - Read chapters 1 and 2 Pink Fairy - ((I didn't write yours down so if you have it, please post it as a "comment" to this post...I am positive the 4 of you know what you're supposed to do, but email me if you need to!)) ***I highly suggest audiobooks as well for those of you who are busy with athletics, music, etc. and need to "read on the go" or ride buses and read, etc. 1. Complete the front page of your packet on conformity...You may work together if you wish--it should only take 5-10 minutes. We will put the connotation chart on the board Thursday.
2. Read through the article on Penn State; you probably heard of the case in the fall 2011. Please come in open-minded for Friday's "Day of Silence"! :)
Also, if you did not present today, you will present Tuesday. |
